cant sleep again so here i am… sorry if this is messy but my brain wont shut off
so my daughter Emma turned 13 last week and i sent her this little care package with her favorite candy and a new phone case with pandas on it because she’s obsessed with pandas or at least she was… anyway i texted her happy birthday at exactly midnight because i always do that, its our thing or it used to be our thing
she never responded. not to the text not about the package nothing. complete radio silence for three days and i’m going crazy wondering if she even got it or if her dad just threw it away like he probably did with the last one
then yesterday i see on her instagram (yes i know i shouldnt be stalking her social media but sue me) she posted this huge thing about her “amazing birthday celebration” with her dad and his girlfriend and how grateful she is for her “real family” who actually care about her… real family. like i didn’t carry her for nine months and stay up all night when she had colic and teach her to ride a bike in the driveway of our old house
the worst part? in one of the photos shes wearing the exact phone case i sent her. so she got it. she just… chose not to acknowledge me at all
is this normal? do your kids just completely erase you from their lives like this? because 18 months ago she was still sleeping in my bed when she had nightmares and now she acts like i’m some stranger who hurt her
i dont know how much more of this i can take…
